Building an Athlete Focused Brand: Physical Therapy Photo Session in Akron
Creating a strong brand presence means showcasing what makes your business unique. For Bethany, owner of Physio330, that meant capturing her passion for helping athletes and active individuals move better and live without pain. I actually first met Bethany myself as a client, when I had a few nagging injuries during marathon training.
As a physical therapist specializing in sports recovery, Bethany wanted visuals that would not only update her website but also provide valuable content for social media.
Our full-day brand photo and video session in Akron, Ohio, focused on capturing Bethany's approachable, friendly, and expert vibe. We highlighted her hands-on approach to care, her genuine connection with clients, and her commitment to empowering athletes of all ages. The session combined studio shots and in-action photos, giving a well-rounded view of Bethany’s practice.
Planning and Preparation
Before the session, I worked with Bethany to plan out a comprehensive shoot guide. We mapped out the day, including headshots, client interactions, and shots of manual therapies like cupping and dry needling. Since she works closely with athletes, we also planned to demonstrate gait and run analysis, as well as capturing her working alongside clients. We made sure to include Clifton, her friendly golden retriever, who greets clients and adds a welcoming touch to the practice.
The Shoot Day
We started with updated headshots to give Bethany a fresh, professional look for her website. Then, we moved on to action shots featuring Bethany working with two models, demonstrating her signature physical therapy techniques. From gait analysis on the treadmill to hands-on manual therapies, we aimed to capture the dynamic, hands-on approach that sets Physio330 apart.
Throughout the session, we focused on authenticity and connection. Whether Bethany was demonstrating an exercise or chatting with a client, we captured moments that showed her passion for helping people move better. Clifton made appearances throughout the day, adding a touch of warmth and personality to the shots.
The Final Results
By the end of the day, we had over 150 photos and more than 100 B-roll video clips, giving Bethany a robust content library to draw from for months to come. The visuals will not only update her website but also enhance her social media presence, helping her connect with both current and potential clients in the Akron area.
A few examples reels I made for her to show her how to use her content are below! For all of my clients I do make a few complimentary reels with some tips and ideas on how to use their new video content, however if any of my clients ever ask and want me to make more reels for them, I can! Just let me know you are interested in reel creation when inquiring about booking!
